July 1, 2015: [headphones recommended for tom-tomming]
Surprise surprise, my birthday HunaJuha! I "accessorized" my Kat's paJAMas with some very simple lyrics, sitar, banjo, viola, oboe and tom-tom bits on top the original cigar-box guitar, tambourine and harmonica track from my birthday to create this love song for my husband's birthday.
I tried something new in taking a mic into our tiny bathroom for my vocals rather than suffer with all ceiling fans off when recording. I'm not too pleased with the sound or clarity and likely won't do that again, but I've printed the lyrics below for anything missed when listening. (Some terms and themes are "inside jokes" between JT and me, so reading the lyrics won't make them any clearer. ;)
I'm happy, however, with my midway instrumental break inserted into my own birthday original. It almost feels like I should call out "let's get jiggy!" heading into it. The sitar bits were to offer a Far Eastern Appalachia fusion feel to the piece, but the middle break could be considered a Celtic dance I think.
Bridging the quarter between our birthdays and connecting Spring and Summer together, this composition makes up in ♥ whatever it lacks in finesse. Thank you good folk for listening and joining in the celebration! Mr. Gristle, you ARE this Kat's Pajamas, and I'm over the reindeer moon in love with you! ☼:)
lyrics
I love you
And I know that you love me, too
And I can tell
You find this works out very well
I love you and you love me
And on this we do agree
We are so simpatico!
Go crab go and go cat go!
Oh, my love
You were sent to me from up above
P.K.D.
Playing Cupid for both you and me
My Sponge-love can you absorb it,
Philip Dick is in Earth orbit
Aiming arrows from his quiver
Every bulls-eye makes us shiver!
Here's a toast:
To the man I dearly love the most
Now sit by me
To watch a film noir or two or three
Sit by me and make a toast,
To the one you love the most
Next we'll watch a silent movie
Smiling wide and feeling groovy
You're my man
I will always be your biggest fan
Take my hand
We're bound to find a home for our last stand
You're my man and I'm your fan
Take my hand, let's make a stand
I'm your woman, you're my fan
To waft us over sea and land
My Finn friend
Our connection cannot ever end
Yang plus yin
Circuit currents spark through thick and thin
You are my Blueberry Finn
Reindeer Moon o'er River Bend
Saw your tom-tom, he's our friend,
Painting fences to the end
Yes, I love you!
